About me
My Hypnotherapy training includes Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (CHPT Bristol, 2018) and KG Hypnobirthing. My longer career background is in NHS Healthcare (including 20+ years in Midwifery practice). I have had a life long interest in human mental health and psychology and have trained and studied extensively to be skilled and knowledgable as a therapist. I have an interest in psychological trauma recovery and my practice is trauma informed. I am currently completing a further qualification, the Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma (HPD), and am a member of the NCH (National Council of Hypnotherapists) – https://www.hypnotherapists.org.uk/therapist-finder/view/plid/12116/
Since Jan 2024 I have attended 18 + professional counselling CPD courses with the Human Givens Institute https://www.humangivens.com/ and am working towards their recognised Diploma qualification. This has included in depth courses related to – anxiety, depression, anger management, addiction, grief and bereavement, psychological trauma, couples therapy, conflict resolution, making counselling more effective, ethics and good practice, and neurodiversity awareness. I am also trained (and working towards certification) in ‘Havening’, a fast and effective trauma and emotion resolution technique.
I have training and experience in an approach to birth trauma recovery called ‘Birth Story Listening’ (with Pam England) and in ‘Transformative Dance’ (with Hadas Fisher). I have lived experience of using lifestyle practices to empower and support me in living well and thriving. I am knowledgable about Autism and ADHD and interested to work with neurodivergent people.
I am a mother of two young adults and therefore have lived experience of parenting, co-parenting, family life and relationships. I am passionate about the natural world and how this can support our human health. My interests include walking, cycling, music and dance.
